A total of 55 deals were recorded, marking a 10% increase from April, driven largely by new project milestones and strong policy momentum in leading markets such as Southern Africa. Solar PV continues to dominate Africa’s energy transition, accounting for 31 transactions, while large-scale hydro and wind projects—though fewer in number—represent nearly half of the month’s disclosed financing due to their capital intensity.
